Weekly Spelling
We will be having a weekly spelling list. We have a spelling menu that students can go buy. Each activity is worth a number of points. However many they do is their grade.
Spelling Menu
These spelling activities are part of your spelling grade. Select the activities you would like to complete for your weekly spelling words. Choose wisely. Each is worth a certain number of points.

5 Point Activities
1. Put words in ABC order. 2. Divide the words into syllables. 3. Write each word and circle the vowels. 4. Write each word and circle the consonants. 5. Write each word neatly in pen. 6. Put words in reverse ABC order. 15 Point Activities 1. Write the words, then write as many words as you can from that word. 2. Write a newspaper article using 10 words. 3. Write your words in pyramid form.. A Ap App Apple 4. Write each word in puffy, cloud like letters. 5. Put your words in columns. Title those columns. They can be sounds, beginning letters, words that rhyme etc. 6. Write each word and create a picture for the word. |
10 Point Activities
1. Use each word in a sentence and underline the spelling word. 2. Write the words and a synonym for each (another word that means the same) 3. Write the words and an antonym for each ( a word that means the opposite) 4. Write the words in print and cursive. 5. Write the words three times each. 6. Write each word three times in different fonts. 20 Point Activities 1. Make a comic strip using all the words. Must be at least 4 squares long. 2. Write a definition for each word. 3. Use Graph paper to create a word search using your spelling words. Share with a friend. 4.Write a story using all the words. Underline the spelling words. 5. Write a rap or poem using all the words. 6. Write 5 questions, 5 statements and 5 exclamatory sentences using each word. 7. Cut out words or letters from magazines, newspapers and create your spelling words. |
